When the maize stalks grow tall and strong, they can support the pole beans. The lettuce will use up the space at the bottom to spread out. You can intercrop plants such as tomatoes, onions and basils, lettuce and peas. The options are endless, you can do some research to know which other crops you can intercrop.

6. Space Well and Water

Well-spaced crops will give you higher yields. Crowded crops give very minimal yields. Additionally, remember to water your crops regularly and apply fertilizer to keep your crops healthy. Remember to keep the weeds away and do mulching using organic materials.
